DVD Review: “Mean Girls” might appear to be another teen comedy, but this perceptive picture is both surprising and funny. With colorful characters and snappy performances, “Mean Girls” is a rare laugh-out-loud film. Lindsay Lohan stars as Cady, a girl raised in the African bush country by her zoologist parents. She thinks she knows about survival of the fittest, but the law of the jungle takes on a whole new meaning when the home-schooled 15-year-old enters public high school for the first time and encounters psychological warfare and unwritten social rules that teenage girls face.
